No junk food, no junk TV and most certainly no Spongebob. I mean really, a yellow square with an annoyingly high voice dancing around with an overweight starfish. Like I said, NEVER, NO WAY, NO HOW! Um well, fast forward 6 years and 2 more boys later. Blues Clues no longer holds son#1's attention not to mention the fact that the stupid yellow sponge everywhere. On lunch boxes, fruit snacks, just flippin' everywhere. So after "My 3 Son's" were tucked into bed Husband I sit down to what I know is going to be an awful waste of time. Heeee-heeee-heeee-heeee-heeeee. Spongebob Square Pants, Spongebob Squarepants, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! I was in love. He was humorous and my brand of humor no less. He is compassionate and a good friend and hard working. Dang so much the perfect man, um I mean perfect sponge. Not only do we approve but recommend in moderate dosage watching Spongebob.

Enter, Twilight. I have 3 gorgeous teenage nieces. Very much on trend. When I saw the girls reading a thick black book larger than our Bible I had to inquire. What's the plot who are the characters?? Okay mortal and vampire. Lost me. I was done with vampires ever since "Interview with a Vampire". Seriously who could totally top my list of actors I am most willing to suck my blood than Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst. So no more. Then Twilight the movie came out, still I resisted. The DVD on the shelves of the Safeway were at my every turn, yet I resisted. Woman of steel. While I strive to be a woman in the world yet not of the world, still I like a good love story as good as the next. I must know what the pull is to this movie. So boys including the one I married tucked into bed it was just me Bella and Edward. Skeptical that this was going to be of any quality I watched. The cinematography was pleasing to my eye and Edwards instant "hunger" for a relationship with Bella was captivating. The magic was there. Bella was the lamb and Edward the lion. Some of my new favorite love scenes are from this movie. DISCLAIMER - While I may elude to the fact that this could be an over sexed teen film, I assure you it is not. They took the high road on every level. No foul language. No premarital sex. So due to my new affection for this movie I will break my rule and now read the books. I hear they are even better than the movie. We shall see.

NOW MY CATHOLIC MOTHERLY ASSESSMENT - I realize that the movie is so captivating because Bella is so unconditionally loved. Not only by her father but her boyfriend as well. What woman doesn't want to be constantly and unconditionally loved. The good news is we ARE already totally captivating to our Heavenly Father. He loves us unconditionally loves us despite our imperfections.

I'm baack

I am coming back. Anyway as I was saying before I distracted myself. I received these lovely soaps from a dear family friend. Just imagine, he is the really nice uncle type. The kind who would give you gum or quarters just because, except he gives us this most delicious smelling all natural soap ever. The truth is all who are lucky to know this wonderful guy act like little children when he is around too. Comments such as "for me, oh you shouldn't have" , followed by giggles and snorts as we press our snouts up to the soaps to see who gets what scent are very common when he presents us with the latest scents.

At this point you are saying well sure anyone can make a nice glycerin soap these days. Well the lovely lady of Flower Moon Soaps happens to make not only the nicest smelling soap but it seems to have magical powers too! Friends to whom I have gifted this too have claimed glowing skin and less acne and they seem to become depressed when its all gone. I made this for a fellow blogger in Holland, Odd & Woolly when we decided to swap. I used wool felt and buttons that have been screaming for a home for at least 2 years or more. It is slightly larger than a standard greeting card. I put a card and some origami paper inside . I may make a few of these at Christmas for teachers gift cards. Any whoo! It's not much but it's a start! PS I apologize to all of you seasoned bloggers who actually know what you are doing. I know I need to post some pictures, but I couldn't let today go by without a reminder of the obvious. Today's date. Do you remember where you were when you heard about the attacks on our country? I do. The chill down my spine, the concern for those killed, those injured and those who were left behind to pick up and carry on. The fear I felt for my family very close to Washington, D.C. Take a moment to say a prayer.

I did it!

After the children were snuggled in bed I created something! Okay, I know not a big deal but for me, yes it is! My husband would say it was because I had things organized (he would be right about that). Anyway back to crafting. I found a bin full of pretty wool felt and buttons and such tucked on the shelf so nicely I have been afraid to open it for a while. I dusted off my sewing machine (and my brain). After consulting the manual on how to wind a bobbin (told you it has been a while) I churned out what I thought was a pretty good start. I mean in a preschool kind of way. Think macaroni shell collage kind of proud. Well, I will post a picture of my little project later this month. Although I finished it in about 2 hours it is a gift and I want the receiver to receive the thing first. Make sense. Now I have to rest up for my next project.

My Very First Post

Well, I have been tinkering with the idea of a blog for about six months now.
